This week you will be developing ideas for a character that will be inspired by a chosen celebration. You will use the Character design -Celebrations sheet to identify existing characters. Formulate a mood board on A3 or A2 paper. with examples of character versions you find interesting.

  • Create a Character Mood board with the title- Celebration- Character
  • Use sources available- select up to 3 characters of interest
  • Select a Tash
  • Collect some imagery of the 3 characters you have chosen- Computer
  • Find images of 3 symbols you like connected to these or other characters on list.
  • Short Annotation/ write on sheet- How character will be the same or different? How will they be the same?
  • Create/draw Symbols the character represents
  • Sketch Character ideas on Mood board
  • Find a selection of colours you want to use.

This week you will experience and discuss the work of Takashi Murakami-An artist who works in the POP ART style. You will complete a quiz on the artist and create images in his style.
