WEEK 3- WC/2ND FEBRUARY

This week you will be developing ideas for a character that will be inspired by a chosen celebration. You will use the Character design -Celebrations sheet to identify existing characters. Formulate a mood board on A3 or A2 paper. with examples of character versions you find interesting.

• Create a Character Mood board with the title- Celebration- Character
• Use sources available- select up to 3 characters of interest
• Select a Tash
• Collect some imagery of the 3 characters you have chosen- Computer
• Find images of 3 symbols you like connected to these or other characters on list.
• Short Annotation/ write on sheet- How character will be the same or different? How will they be the same?
• Create/draw Symbols the character represents
• Sketch Character ideas on Mood board
• Find a selection of colours you want to use.

WEEK 2- WC/26TH JANUARY

This week you will experience and discuss the work of Takashi Murakami-An artist who works in the POP ART style. You will complete a quiz on the artist and create images in his style.

• Watch, Listen and try to answer the questions on Takashi Murakami in the video.
• Start and Complete Murakami Quiz
• Create a character and background in Murakami’s style.

This week…you will be introduced to the theme Celebration as the new project brief. You will work in pairs and individually to gather information about a range of celebrations and activities.

Work in Pairs

Include a drawing of a symbol or object that reminds you of the Celebration or Festival.
